Members of Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities have been disproportionally affected by COVID-19 and it is essential that they are involved in COVID-19 research.
This video has been produced by the Centre for BME Health in Leicester, UK. The video offer tips and advice on designing and delivering research that is sensitive to and inclusive of people from BAME groups. The intention is that it will help research staff understand the need to record ethnicity data and recruit people from BAME backgrounds, to ensure that participants in research are representative of the totality of the population.
The work is a collaboration with the National Institute for Health Research and there are more videos at https://www.nihr.ac.uk/blog/ensuring-ethnic-diversity-in-covid-19-research/25160
