Abstract

Often people taking part in trials do not reflect the wider society. Many groups including people from minoritised communities, those with impaired cognition and experiencing socioeconomic disadvantage are under-represented in trials. To address inequalities, trials should be inclusive.

This interactive workshop is led by a team of researchers with expertise in inclusive methodologies and members of the health research authority. It will provide practical advice on how to address key inclusion questions on:
‘who do I include’, ‘what tools might help’ and ‘how to budget for inclusivity’.

The workshop will also specifically focus on two important inclusion problems: a) how to collect data to support equity and inclusion and b) inclusive communication.
