Quality matters: why randomised trials are essential and how we can make them better

Brussels, Belgium

Speaker: Shaun Treweek

This meeting is organised by the Belgian Health Care Knowledge Centre, KCE (https://kce.fgov.be), which among other things funds trials.  The venue is the Pacheco Centre, Boulevard Pachéco 13, 1000 Brussels.  More information here.

This year a number of hot topics in trials will be on the agenda: set up and use of a research agenda, data sharing and GDPR, methods on trials, etc.  My talk will cover the importance of trial evidence to good decision-making, why randomisation is important, why methods matter and why we need to think about trial efficiency.

Trial Forge is the 2019 winner of the Cochrane-REWARD prize for reducing research waste in health research.  Read more here.
