Quality matters: why randomised trials are essential and how we can make them better
Brussels, Belgium

Speaker: Shaun Treweek

This meeting is organised by the Belgian Health Care Knowledge Centre, KCE (, which among other things funds trials.  The venue is the Pacheco Centre, Boulevard Pachéco 13, 1000 Brussels.  More information here.

This year a number of hot topics in trials will be on the agenda: set up and use of a research agenda, data sharing and GDPR, methods on trials, etc.  My talk will cover the importance of trial evidence to good decision-making, why randomisation is important, why methods matter and why we need to think about trial efficiency.

Trial Forge is the 2019 winner of the Cochrane-REWARD prize for reducing research waste in health research.  Read more here.
